Update on Baby Brundage and Family

Posted by aeopi on July 9, 2008

The past week or so has been somewhat eventful in the Brundage household.  We finally purchased baby bedding and therefore have picked out a theme for the nursery.  We got the Animal Safari bedding from Baby Gap.  You can only see it on the home page of babygap.com because they are all sold out online.  But it’s super cute with lots of animals!  Don’t worry there isn’t any leopard or zebra prints in it.  :)  From this bedding we decided to paint the room a very light gray blue with a nice fat green stripe around the room that is the same color green as the bumper.  It is SUPER CUTE!  Here’s the promised pictures!

For those of you who haven’t noticed Chris’ blog, we also went to register for Baby Owen this past weekend and boy was it overwhelming.  We definitely need some motherly advice on our registries so please go look at Target.com and babiesrus.com and let us know if we missed anything important or registered for some horrible products!

And, last but certainly not least, I felt Owen move the other day.  It was a very small little poke and I barely felt it, but it was very moving to know that he really is in there!  I can’t wait until the pokes are big enough for Chris to feel them too.

Anywho…that’s the latest news from this side of the womb.  Hope everyone is doing well and we love you!

Things I want…

Posted by aeopi on July 9, 2008

I’ve decided to start a list of things I want or that I want for Owen, gift ideas maybe???

1.  Hooter Hider - Yes, you read that right, hooter hider.  It’s a cover to put around me and Baby Owen for when its time to breastfeed.  It allows me to do this in front of people without fear of flashing or the baby pulling the blanket down.  http://shop.bebeaulait.com/shop/hhnc/chocolat

2.  Inflatable Bath Tub - I read on a blog about this and it sounds great!  No fear of Baby Owen bumping his head on the tub!  http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2627247

3.  Sonoma Crew Socks - First of all, how super cute are these socks!?!  Second, I read, on the same blog as above, about how well they stay on her baby’s feet.  http://www.kohls.com/kohlsStore/kids/boysaccessories/socks/PRD~327870/Sonoma+life+style+6pk+Cushioned+14Crew+Socks.jsp

 4.  Death Cab for Cutie Onsie - This is something Chris wants for Owen more than me.  It’s his favorite band.  But pretty cute that Owen could rock on with his Daddy!  http://www.cinderblock.com/bands/index.aspx?site=dfc

5.  Skull and Crossbones Onsie - I have started to have this weird fetish with skulls and crossbones lately.  I even talked Chuck into getting Riley a Paul Frank swim suit that had skulls all over it.  It was super cute.  And now look!  We can get skulls for Owen too!!  http://www.punkbabyclothes.net/shop/product_info.php?products_id=1951  or  http://shop.paulfrank.com/Skurvy_Hoodie/pd/c/518/np/518/p/2670.html

6.  Anything from Baby Gap that will match the Animal Safari bedding we bought, like sheets and stuff.

7.  JJ Cole Essentials Travel Pod Set - I registered for this at Babies R Us but they are discontinuing it.  :(  I love it!  http://www.jjcoleusa.com/eg.php

8.  Another item being kicked off of my registry: Skip Hop Bottle Drying Rack http://www.skiphop.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SH&Category_Code=HN&&Product_Code=302000

9.  How cool is this??  A “teething bib”!  It’s a small circular bib to keep the drool off of baby’s shirt!  The only ones I’ve seen are here http://www.babylicious.ca/.

Friday Freakout…and Big News!

Posted by aeopi on June 23, 2008

Well, as some of you know I made an “emergency” trip to the doctor’s office last Friday.  I was having strange shooting pains in my lower tummy area.  These, embarrassingly, turned out to simply be growing pains.  But, on the bright side - we got to go to the sonographer and have a lot of pictures taken of the baby to make sure everything was good.  This means….yes….we found out the sex of the baby!!  I wish we could tell each and every one of you in person what we’re having, but we can’t keep it contained for that long.  So, for those of you who have been waiting to hear….

We’re having a BOY!!!!

Yes, we are super excited!  We would have been happy either way, but I was really hoping for a baby boy to come first!  As far as names go, we are pretty set on Owen Christopher Brundage (Owen being my maiden name, Christopher for the obvious).  The Doctor at the sonographer’s office also said that our baby has a text book perfect heart!  He even took a picture to keep for his records.  His kidneys, back bone, legs, feet, head, and brain are all looking healthy as well.

To those of you who we saw this weekend and didn’t tell the big news to…sorry, but we had to tell family first.  But it was tough keeping it in!!

I have attached a couple pictures in the link below.  They are my two favorites of Owen, so far.  The top picture is of his bottom - as if he were sitting on a copy machine with his legs pointing out to the left side of the picture.  The arrow is pointing at his you know what….haha.  The bottom picture is his profile.  He is laying on his back with his head towards the right side of the picture.  The lady doing the sonogram said he had one hand on his chin and the other on his forehead, but I can’t really see that.  You can really see his big ol’ belly though.  She said he didn’t look like he’s missed a meal and the doctor said he’s weighing about 6 ounces right now.  My little information emails say that he is about the size of a turnip this week.

Take care and we love you all!

Thurday’s Appointment

Posted by aeopi on June 6, 2008

The appointment went well.  Actually, nothing notable happened.  I’m progressing as expected, I didn’t gain too much or too little weight, and the baby’s heart beat sounded strong.  The only exciting news is that on July 1, we have our second trimester ultrasound and this is when we should find out the sex of the baby, for sure this time.

Oh, we did get sad news yesterday - my doctor is resigning!  Ugh!!  She is being replaced by another doctor, Dr. Shimer, and we get to meet her in the next few weeks.  I hope I like her, I don’t want to have to search for someone new.  :(

Anywho - Chris and I are doing well, hope to see you soon!  Love you all!

Uncooperative

Posted by aeopi on May 19, 2008

Well, turns out all you nay-sayers out there jinxed us from finding out the sex of the baby — but not because it was too soon.  Apparently, we have a very uncooperative baby.  He/she was running laps and doing flip flops while the doctor was trying to look at him/her!  So, alas, we don’t know the sex today.  But, we did find out that the outlook is positive for a healthy baby!!  We also got some new pictures and will post them soon.  OK, I hate to break the news, but pictures will not be posted.  They are super hard to see in person and the pdf did not turn out well at all.  Sorry.  Hopefully next time will be better!

Audrey Payton Owen is Here!

Posted by aeopi on May 13, 2008

My new little niece was born last night around 11:30pm and is a healthy 8lbs 2 oz and 20.25 inches.  Here’s to one less thing to wait on!  She’s beautiful!  She got long fingers and long toes and was ready to take on the world!  Her eyes were open the whole time, just checking people and things out.  She looks a lot like her big sister, Riley, but she’s got her differences, mainly in her eyes.  Here’s a couple pictures of her and one of Riley from when she was born for comparison.  If you want to see more shots click on this link here: http://share.shutterfly.com/action/welcome?sid=8AZt3LVi3aNmXM

Waiting…

Posted by aeopi on May 12, 2008

I hate waiting!  Since I am anticipating so much, I want you all to be impatient with me!

We’re waiting on our new niece, Audrey Payton Owen, to be born.  She should be here any moment now!

We have our ultrasound appointment scheduled for Monday…we might possibly get to find out the sex of the baby on this day, if the picture is good enough, so cross your fingers and get your bets in now!

I hit 12 weeks next weekend, so watch for an updated belly shot.

Our next doctor’s appointment isn’t until June 5th after this Monday, so there probably won’t be much to report until then.
